Located in Bournemouth, in the south of England, the Vitality Stadium is the smallest stadium in the Premier League, with a capacity of about 11 thousand spectators. But don’t be fooled: despite its size, it has everything an elite stadium needs!

Since January of 2026, the stadium has also been the new home of Rayan, the young talent who joined AFC Bournemouth from Vasco for no less than 35 million euros (approximately R$ 220 million that season). And he’s not just an addition to the squad—he’s already making history!

A Bit of History

Founded in 1910, Vitality Stadium began its journey as Dean Court, a name that comes from the grounds leased by the Cooper-Dean family. The AFC Bournemouth, which has existed since 1890, turned professional that same year and has owned the stadium ever since.

It wasn’t until the 2015/16 season that Bournemouth made its first appearance in the Premier League, more than 100 years after its founding. And last season was incredible! With Rayan in the squad, the team finished in 6th place, securing a spot in the Europa League—its first appearance in history!

Expansion in Sight

Due to its success, Bournemouth is already planning to expand Vitality Stadium. With capacity for 11 thousand people, it will need to grow to more than 20 thousand seats! The renovation, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028, will cost about 90 million pounds (approximately R$ 632 million).

The Impact of Rayan

A lot of Bournemouth’s strong run is due to the performance of its squad, and Rayan is a key piece of that. The forward arrived midway through last season and already has 5 goals and 2 assists in just 15 matches. He did so well that he also earned a spot in the World Cup with the Brazilian national team—that’s no small thing!
