Flamengo Is Renewing!

Flamengo is really putting on a show in negotiations! Recently, the club has reached an agreement to renew Danilo, and it has been talking behind the scenes about extending the contracts of four players who are fundamental to the squad: Rossi, Pedro, Evertton Araújo, and Léo Pereira. All of this was revealed by reporter Bruno Braz on De Primeira, on Canal UOL.

Danilo and His New Adventures

Danilo is expected to sign a new contract through 2027! And there’s more: there is a conversation going on about a possible career transition for him within the club, something club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, the famous BAP, has already mentioned. After Flamengo’s win over 2 to 1 against Corinthians, Danilo said that the signing should happen this week.

He had already hinted that talks about the renewal were underway. And after the match, he made it clear that the new contract will likely be finalized soon. He had mentioned that he planned to retire at the end of 2026, but it seems his mind has changed! After thinking it over, Danilo believes he can manage one more season. So that’s it: a new contract through 2027, and retirement is for later!

Danilo’s Career in Management

BAP has already made it clear that he sees great potential in Danilo to become an executive in the future. He has an exemplary attitude, intelligence, leadership, and a passion for football. So we should see Danilo at Flamengo—but now in a role away from the pitch, perhaps even in 2028!

Other Renewals Coming Up

After formalizing Danilo’s renewal, Flamengo’s board is expected to focus on renewals for Pedro, Rossi, Evertton Araújo, and Léo Pereira. According to Bruno Braz, Pedro’s situation is progressing, but it’s still not 100% resolved. This morning, he said that negotiations are going well, but that Pedro’s renewal shouldn’t be completed this week. Still, expectations are positive that he—along with Rossi and Evertton—will have his contract renewed soon.

Flamengo Looking Ahead

Flamengo isn’t standing still! In addition to renewing Bruno Henrique this year, the goal now is to keep this core together by renewing Léo Pereira as well. The team is preparing to stay strong in the competitions ahead!

So stay tuned for updates to learn more about the renewals and everything happening in the rubro-negro world!
