Philippe Coutinho is the new signing for Santos!

Santos is not messing around and has just announced the signing of Philippe Coutinho as its newest midfielder. The star player has signed a contract valid until the end of 2026 and is back in football after a brief spell with Vasco, where he said goodbye in February.

What’s next?

If Coutinho decides not to renew his contract, he will be able to play only in the Brasileirão and the final stages of the Copa Sul-Americana for Santos. Of course, that depends on whether the team manages to get past Atlético-MG on Wednesday!

And guess what? Coutinho will wear the 11 jersey of Peixe, which was kindly loaned by Rony. The player did not hide his excitement about being able to play alongside Neymar, something that had never happened at a club.

“I’m very happy to be joining a great club, returning to football. Playing for the club where Pelé played is very important, and playing alongside Neymar, who is a great star... It has always been a pleasure to play with him,” said Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho’s official presentation will take place today, together with that of right-back Rodinei, who is already known for having debuted for the club, but still hasn’t received all the formalities of the presentation.
