Corinthians Unveils New Kit in Tribute to Tobias

This Friday, on 18, Corinthians released their third kit of the season for 2026 and, guess what? It’s predominantly blue! This new jersey is a wonderful tribute to Tobias, one of the great icons of the Corintian Invasion at the Maracanã, there in 1976.

A Bit of Tobias’s History

Tobias guarded the Corinthians goal between 1974 and 1980 and played a key role in the club’s campaign in the Campeonato Brasileiro de 1976. In the semifinal against Fluminense, he was one of the standout names in the match that took the Timão to the final, in a game marked by the memorable invasion of the São Paulo crowd into Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately, our legendary goalkeeper passed away in 2024, at 75 years old.

First Kits of the Season

And it doesn’t stop there! The first two shirts produced by Nike this season were also designed in reference to the exciting duel against Fluminense. Back then, more than 70 thousand Corinthians fans showed up at the Maracanã to support the team and secure the victory that took them to the final of the Campeonato Brasileiro. It’s worth remembering that, despite all the excitement, Corinthians ultimately lost to Internacional in the decision.

Debut of the New Kit

Interestingly, the new kit was created for outfield players, but its debut will be with the goalkeepers! Hugo Souza will be the one wearing the new shirt in the men’s team, while Nicole will wear the kit for the women’s team.

And for those who are curious: the men’s Corinthians will face Fluminense, exactly this Sunday, on 20, in the Brasileirão! Meanwhile, the women’s team is preparing for the clash against Bahia on Monday, 21, aiming for a spot in the Campeonato Brasileiro final.
