James Freitas Trades São Paulo for Grêmio

That’s right, folks! The assistant coach James Freitas left São Paulo and has everything already locked in to join Grêmio. He was part of Roger Machado’s staff at Tricolor, and now he has accepted the invitation to reinforce the team led by Renato Gaúcho in southern Brazil.

Changes to the Coaching Staff

James was hired by São Paulo to be part of the club’s permanent coaching staff and stayed there even after Roger Machado left, who remained only 17 games ahead of the team between March and May of this year. After Roger’s dismissal, James continued steadily at São Paulo, but an irresistible offer from Grêmio made him rethink his situation.

With James’s new departure, São Paulo’s coaching staff now includes:

• Lucas Silvestre
• Pedro Sotero
• Milton Cruz (the club’s permanent assistant)

These changes show how dynamic football is, and how each new piece can make all the difference. Let’s keep an eye on what’s coming next!
