Atlético-MG Shines and Defeats Bragantino in a Tight Match
On Saturday night, Atlético-MG secured a hard-fought victory over Red Bull Bragantino, with a score of 1 to 0, in a rescheduled match that is part of the 21th round of Brasileirão, played at Arena MRV.
The Goal That Sealed the Win
The only goal of the night came off the foot of Bernard, who scored in the 18 minute. The forward capitalized on a mistake by defender Gustavo Marques, picking up the ball on the left side and driving a precise shot into the left corner of goalkeeper Tiago Volpi. To make the play even more exciting, the ball even flicked off the crossbar before going in!
A Tense Start
Right at the beginning of the match, after nine seconds, the atmosphere turned tense. Alix Vinícius, from Bragantino, and Victor Hugo, from Atlético, collided and both went down. Unfortunately, both were momentarily unconscious. While Victor managed to recover and left the field walking, Alix needed an ambulance to be taken off the pitch.
Missed Chances
On Bragantino’s side, frustration ran high, especially for what happened in the second half, when they created some good opportunities. And even the Galo’s defense also opened up a few gaps, making a retreat mistake. But the forward Fernando couldn’t capitalize on that chance.
Standings After the Match
With this win, Atlético-MG added 43 points and is in seventh place in the table, while Bragantino remains on 36 points, in tenth place.
What’s Next?
The Galo already has the next challenge scheduled: it will face Athletico Paranaense on Thursday at 20h. Meanwhile, Bragantino prepares to host Mirassol on Wednesday at 19h30.
