Neymar Back! What to Expect from the Santos vs. Flamengo Match?

Santos fans can already get excited, because Neymar is back! Coach Cuca called 24 players for the match against Flamengo, taking place at 19h30 (Brasília time) this Thursday (7). The showdown is at Vila Belmiro and promises plenty of thrills, as we are in the 29th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Neymar in the Match

After recovering from a thigh injury that kept him out of action at the start of the month, the 10 shirt number returned to training with the team and is ready to play. But here’s a tip: it’s very likely that the star will start on the bench.

Reunions and Debuts

This match will be full of reunions! It’s the first time Neymar will be on the field alongside Philippe Coutinho. The midfielder made his Santos debut in the second half of the latest derby against São Paulo (on Friday, day 2), and if you didn’t watch, he was key to the team’s comeback. The fans were left stunned!

Speaking of reunions, Gabigol, who is in an incredible phase, will face Flamengo on the pitch—his former club. Of Peixe’s famous trio, the only one guaranteed in the starting lineup is the striker. But it’s good to stay alert, because Cuca tested Coutinho among the 11 starters during training.

Santos Lineup

So, shall we take a look at the list of called-up players?

• Goalkeepers: Diógenes, João Paulo and R. Falcão
• Fullbacks: Igor Vinícius, Rodinei and Escobar
• Center Backs: Lucas Veríssimo, Luan Peres and Gustavo Henrique
